The Game Awards, si vota per 5 categorie esports

Aperte le votazioni ai canditati al "The Game Awards" uno dei più grandi eventi dello spettacolo che riunisce creatori di giochi, atleti di esport, influencer digitali, fan e l'industria dell'intrattenimento. Il prossimo 8 dicembre 2022 dal Microsoft Theater di Los Angeles, una notte di premi, anteprime mondiali di giochi esclusivi e spettacoli musicali per celebrare il meglio dei videogiochi e vedere in anteprima il futuro.

Per questa nona edizione sono ben 5 le categorie dedicate agli esports: Best Esports Game, Best Esports Athlete, Best Esports Team, Best Esports Coach e Best Esports Event. Attive al momento 25 nomination che si contendono con il sistema delle votazioni il premio di miglior elemento della rispettiva categoria. Per quanto riguarda il Best Esports Game sono in nomination Counter Strike: Global Offensive (Valve), Dota 2 (Valve), League of Legends (Riot Games), Rocket League (Psyonix) e Valorant (Riot Games). Per il Best Esports Athletes sono in nomination: Jeong "Chovy" Ji-Hoon (Gen.G), Lee "Faker" Sang-Hyeok (T1), Finn "Karrigan" Andersen (FaZe Clan), Oleksandr "S1mple" Kostyliev (Natus Vincere) e Jacob "Yay" Whiteaker (Cloud9). Per il Best Esports Team in nomination: Darkzero Esports, FaZe Clan, Gen.G, LA Thieves e Loud. Per il Best Esports Coach in nomination: Andrii "B1ad3" Horodenskyi (Natus Vincere), Matheus "Bzka" Tarasconi (Loud), Erik "DoomBros" Sandgren (FPX), Robert "Robban" Dahlstrom (FaZe Clan) e Go "Score" Dong-Bin (Gen.G). Infine per la categoria Best Esports Event sono in nomination: EVO 2022, 2022 League of Legends World Championship, PGL Major Antwerp 2022, The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational e Valorant Champions 2022. Il prossimo 8 dicembre verranno svelati i vincitori di ogni categoria.
